| If you sail down the coast to Long Boat Pass or take the ICW through a couple of bridges, there is a delightful anchorage behind the north end of Longboat Key. This is a fairly wide basin that has 12-20 feet of water that will accomodate lots of boats. This is dolphin country and they sound and feed around the boat all day long. The sound of their blowing and the smell of fish on their breath is quite fun to experience. Manatees also feed in this area. There are two restaurants there - one with a pier and the other has seating under the trees. Nice place.
